About This Course

The unique design of this four-part workshop will open the minds of training developers and facilitators with proven approaches that are both measurable and application-based while also guiding the incorporation of accelerated learning principles to meet the various learning styles of participants.

At the end of Lesson One, participants will be able to:

  • Activate all four of the contributing factors that lead to fabulous facilitation
  • Distinguish the “how” from the “what” of effective facilitation
  • Organize instruction around learner needs
  • Practice writing learner-focused objectives

At the end of Lesson Two, participants will be able to:

  • Use classroom and real-world media to support training
  • Develop handouts that are simple, offer visual imaging of content and can also serve as an on-the-job quick reference guide/job aid
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and that builds learner anticipation
  • Use their bodies, voices and messages to foster learning relationships

At the end of Lesson Three, participants will be able to:

  • Facilitate discussions that increase instructor-to-learner rapport and trust
  • Handle participants in ways that promote open communication
  • Recognize training phases (preparation, presentation, practice and performance)
  • Apply training techniques that stimulate learners at all learning levels
  • Contrast active vs. passive learning activities and their timing and impact on learners
  • Examine training content for activity placement and timing
  • Find ways to put knowledge-based learning points into real-world practice
  • Align training activities, practice and performance evaluations with learning objectives

At end of Lesson Four, participants will be able to:

  • Develop a structure for organizing new or existing content
  • Establish clear, measurable learner-focused objectives
  • Facilitate training that uses real-world and classroom media to engage learners
  • Adapt facilitation techniques in response to learner needs
  • Incorporate multi-sensory activities that fully integrate learner intelligence
  • Handle student problems in ways that promote collaboration
  • Apply proven remedies to solve crisis situations in a timely manner
